Not all scars on body remind you of the pain you went through but the bundle of joy it gave. Confused? Asked a mom who has gone through C section.

April is the C section awareness month so would be mommies let's understand all about C section.

Cesarean delivery (C-section) is a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus.

Sometimes a C-section is safer for you or your baby than is a vaginal delivery. Your health care provider might recommend a C-section if:

👉Your labor isn't progressing.
👉Your baby is in distress. I
👉Your baby or babies are in an abnormal position.
👉You're carrying multiples.
👉There's a problem with your placenta.
👉Prolapsed umbilical cord.
👉You have a health concern.
👉Mechanical obstruction.
👉You've had a previous C-section.

Like all other surgeries, C section also includes some risks to you and your baby but don't worry your doctor will take care and will be prepared for all possible complications. You need few days hospitalisation after the procedure during that period the hospital staff and doctors will take all essential care but after you go home following things are to be kept in mind

👍Take time to sit and bond with your baby.
👍Rest when you’re tired.
👍Walk every day. Walking helps prevent blood clots and constipation.
👍Hold a pillow over your incision when you need to cough or laugh.
👍Shower normally.
👍Reach out to a lactation consultant if you have trouble breastfeeding.
👎Don't Lift anything heavier than your baby.
👎 Don't participate in rigorous activity or do core muscle exercises until your doctor clears you for activity.
👎 Don't take the stairs repeatedly.

Diet after C section

👍Drink enough water and other fluid
👍Eat a well-balanced, healthy diet.
👍Take a fiber supplement daily. This can help avoid constipation
👍Ask your doctor when you can start trying to lose the baby weight.

For keeping the mom happy and mentally stable avoid saying these things to her
1. “All that matters is you had a healthy baby.”

2. “You can try for a natural birth next time.”

3. “It was failure to progress.”

4. “So you didn’t actually give birth, technically, huh?”

5. “You’re so lucky you didn’t have to go through labour.”

6. “At least your vagina didn’t get annihilated.”

7. “You got a free tummy tuck.”

8. “You had it easy.”
